Adventurous Training

We train adult groups to be leaders in the outdoors, skills which can be transferred to your day to day activities – goal setting, resilience, teamwork, communication, and leadership.

With 20 years of experience running trips and expeditions, we have created a foundation for further training and award programmes, ranging from the mountain bike leader award and wilderness first aid training to outdoor education for teachers and army assessment.

Mountain Bike Instructor Training

The 3-day Mountain-bike Instructors Award Scheme (MIAS) promotes safe enjoyment of all aspects of mountain-biking in an off and on road environment. All of the courses are accredited to National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) standard awards through the National Council of Further Education (NCFE).

The MIAS scheme provides training and assessment in technical and group management skills required by those who wish to lead groups in a variety of off-road environments.

Core areas of learning include health and safety policies, group management, cycle maintenance, riding techniques, route planning, navigation techniques, access & conservation, legal considerations, child protection policies, and implementing equality.

MIAS has been awarded the Adventure mark and Learning Outside the Classroom Centre Approval. We are the only approved company to offer this course in East Africa.

Wilderness First Aid

Together with SOLO USA, we offer two certified and internationally recognised wilderness first aid courses based out of the RVA Ol Pejeta Camp.

This comprehensive training focuses on the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of an injured or sick person in a remote wilderness environment, where there is no readily available access to a physician or rapid transport to a hospital.

At the end of this training, you will receive a photo ID card detailing your Wilderness First Aid qualifications, valid for a two year period.

Outdoor Education for Teachers: Capacity building

Our Outdoor Education Training aims to build the capacity of teachers to lead experiential outdoor classes, which engage students through participatory learning, environmental education and guided experiences.

This training will equip teachers with the necessary leadership skills, as well as the best practice principles for carrying out a successful outdoor education experience.

Army Assessment

As one of two assured providers for British Army Adventure Training in Africa, we have an outstanding safety record and have maintained international standards that go unsurpassed in the outdoor adventure sector in East Africa.

What started our as small-scale adventurous training for the British Army in Kenya in 2002, has grown in size and capability.

Today we can cater for over 400 pax in our own dedicated Adventure Centres and camps in Laikipia, Kenya.

All the members of the squadron that were able to participate in your areas of adventurous training thoroughly enjoyed themselves, with some members managing to confront and overcome their fears.
