We lead holistic adult adventure trips for groups in the Kenyan outback, bordered on one side by Mt. Kenya with its ice tipped peaks and on the other side by the dramatic 3,000-foot cliffs of the Great Rift Valley.
Can there be a better backdrop than this for a series of physical and mental challenges?
All our adventure trips immerse you in the Kenyan culture, challenging you to understand more about yourself and others while teaching key goal setting, resilience, teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
During your trip, you can take part in some of our adrenaline-packed activities include mountain biking, cycle safaris, canyoning, rafting, rock climbing, camel safaris, and stand up paddling. You’re spoiled for choice!
Our flexible itineraries and tailor-made adventures are suitable for groups of 5+ people, so gather up your friends, family, and colleagues, and join us on a memorable adventure!
Our Adventures

Adventurous Training
We train adult groups to be leaders in the outdoors, skills which can be transferred to your daily activities – goal setting, resilience, teamwork, communication, and leadership.

Charity Challenges
Whether its a triathlon in the Kenyan wilderness or a bicycle ride from Mt. Kenya to the tropical coast, we can organise your charity challenge to your exact specification.

MTB Adventures
Get out of the office and into the outdoors. Our mtb adventures are tailored to your needs – whether you are looking for the ultimate challenge or just need to unwind on a bike.

Family Adventures
Whether you’re travelling with children, organising a special trip for friends, or taking mom out for a treat, we can arrange a trip that suits you and your needs.

Mountain Biking
Bike in Kenya across the rural community land and along the Rongai River, with Mt. Kenya shining to the East and Laikipia peeling out through the classic African landscape or alongside giraffe and zebra. We are spoilt for choice with untouched biking trails.

Rock Climbing
Rock climb in Kenya on our in-camp walls, or nearby boulders, rock faces and outcrops. Our main crag at Ngare Ndare forest overlooks Borana and Lewa Conservancy giving one of the best views from any single pitch climb you can find anywhere!

Mountain Climbing
Tackle Africa’s second highest Mountain – Mt. Kenya. Rise past its glacier sculptured valleys and alpine moorland riddled with clear tarns and trout-filled streams. We keep off the beaten tracks giving you the best any mountain in the world has to offer

Canyoning
Jump in the turquoise waters of Ngare Ndare’s pools, and then abseil through a waterfall. RVA is the only company in Kenya providing a true canyoning experience with internationally certified guides and instructors
Our Camps
We have outdoor adventure and wildlife on the doorstep of all our camps. Whether you want to go on safari and view the big five, mountain bike across the open savanna of Ol Pejeta Conservancy or through the Mount Kenya forests, or go canyoning and rock climbing in the Ngare Ndare Forest, we have a camp for you!
Each location offers comfortable accommodation in tented camps and eco-lodges. Discover what each of our camps has to offer.

Preparing For Your Adventure
Before you head out for your incredible RVA adventure, here is some key information you should know.
Depending on your activities, you will stay at either Ol Pejeta Camp or Forest Camp.
Tasty Kenyan food mixed with traditional meals is served daily, with packed lunches provided when away from camp. We can also cater to most dietary/religious restrictions and food allergies. Please share with us any dietary queries and restrictions before your trip.
English speaking guides, internationally qualified instructors and guides for all activities, and additional Kenyan support staff for camp.
We recommend that everyone visits a travel doctor and acquires the shots their doctor prescribes. Furthermore, we recommend that everyone have an anti-malaria prescription. Remember that most of these drugs (for example, Malarone) require that you start taking the medicine several days before you leave. The same is true for Dukoral, an oral vaccine for traveller’s diarrhoea.
All RVA camps have 24-hour security guards as well as local security networks including armed rangers or police where necessary. Additionally, we have an unblemished safety record, thanks to a highly trained team, industry-standard equipment and facilities, detailed operational procedures, and comprehensive participant preparation.
Warm clothes, sturdy shoes, a reusable water bottle, toiletries, and a rucksack, to name a few. We will include a full kit list in your itinerary so that you are fully prepared. One thing to remember is “don’t get weighed down on your adventure, only pack the essentials!”
From the first time you make contact with Rift Valley Adventures, our professional team will be active in your chosen, fully-hosted programme. Without getting in your hair, we’ll be with you 24 hours a day from pick-up to drop-off.
The climate in Kenya varies from cool and dry to warm/hot. There are periods of heavy rains between March and May and October and December.
Yes, our trips are inclusive and will support the needs of people with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. Please contact us for more detailed information.
